The American Academy of Arts Objective
Professional filmmakers from both the studio and independent film worlds are invited to participate in the IFB program.
Fulfilling key leadership positions in camera, sound, grip & electric and other departments, they are charged with
managing their respective department's team, comprised solely of students, training them in the use of equipment and the
interrelational roles incumbent to their collaborative efforts in each phase of production. These instructors serve as
mentors throughout the duration of every Indie Filmmaker's Bootcamp, providing hands-on, task-solving insight in a
real-world environment.
Beyond ensuring that every participant has a substantive understanding of the overall filmmaking process, the objective of each
Indie Filmmaker's Bootcamp is to enable aspiring filmmakers of all ages to experience making a film at the professional
level, from beginning through completion. This unique experience is often the deciding factor for those seeking employment
at such industry leaders as Pixar, Dreamworks, Universal Studios, Warner Brothers, Paramount, Disney and others.
For those considering producing quality cinematic entertainment independent of the studio system, the IFB provides the
necessary grounding and real-world understanding of the challenges faced by a company, extending from concept to
production management, post-production and marketing & exhibition in effort to reduce the risks of producers and investors.
