| Two Interviews with Gregory Online |
|
SAN DIEGO—Rare interviews with writer-director Michael Steven Gregory by two separate online publications provide
candid insight into the mind of the independent filmmaker. Gregory is also president of Random Cove, LLC, and executive
director of the Southern California Writers' Conference, held annually in both San Diego and Los Angeles.
WritersMonthly.US and AbsoluteWrite.com both feature one-on-one interviews with Gregory which explore his background,
his writing process—both alone and with writing partner Anna Gilson—future projects, and more. Providing plenty of
practical, helpful advice, both interviews are "must read" material for the aspiring talent.
Described by WritersMonthly.US, "Gregory is like the Tom Hanks character in Saving Private Ryan. He's a regular enough
guy in civilian life—but in the hell of war (filmmaking)—he has that unfakable quality that makes people under
intense stress turn to him, depend on him to get them where they have to go, and trust him to get them back alive, in
one piece, and in position for their next career move."
Among the topics addressed in the interviews: collaboration, writing for television vs. writing for feature-film, the
purpose of a "breakthrough" vehicle, and writing the screenplays for Wish, Valentine Carol, and
Armageddon Jones.
