| AIU announces "9-Day Indie Filmmaker's Bootcamp” |
|
SAN DIEGO—Alliant International University announces the first program from Filmmaker in Residence, Michael Steven
Gregory. The “9-Day Indie Bootcamp” will start on Monday, June 23, 2003 and end on Thursday, July 3, 2003. Participants
will have the opportunity to learn the art and science of independent filmmaking from industry professionals who
will be in San Diego to shoot an independent feature film. Limited to 100 students, the top 25 will be
selected to serve as support crew for some of the same filmmakers conducting the Summer intensive on a six-week
shoot of a yet-to-be named independent feature film, gaining valuable professional production credit in the
industry.
“We approached several teachers and students around the country about the creation of this program and the response
was overwhelming,” stated Gregory. “There's a tremendous need for students to have practical, hands-on movie-making
experience prior to graduating into the real world of professional filmmaking, and I'm very pleased that
AIU is creating an atmosphere where creativity and learning are one in the same in achieving that aim.”
Alliant International University was founded in July 2001, through the combination of the California School of
Professional Psychology and United States International University. With more than 6,000 students, AIU has six
campuses in California—Fresno, Irvine, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Francisco Bay Area, and San Diego—as well as
a campus in Mexico City, Mexico and one in Nairobi, Kenya.
Details and enrollment information will be announced soon. Pre-registration is available at
www.RandomCove.com/Bootcamp or by calling Michael Steven Gregory at AIU, (858) 635-4428.
