Niche Novels by Both New & Name Authors
Complete Random Cove Plan

SAN DIEGO — Bringing full circle its efforts to combine fresh talent with established pros in reaching niche audiences, Random Cove has announced the formation of its e-publishing division, Thin Timber Books (TTB).   Offering quality “niche novels by both new and accomplished authors” in downloadable e-book form, TTB’s titles will include many first-published books, as well as select out-of-print titles by established, mainstream authors spanning a variety of genres.

“A great number of great books never reach the public for no other reason than sound fiscal management," says Michael Steven Gregory, President and Executive Producer of Random Cove.   "Mainstream publishing and distribution costs big money.   Taking a risk on mid-list or untested authors writing for a niche-market readership is a costly gamble that can easily backfire and derail prospects for assuredly “big-hit” brethren titles—the King’s, the Clancy’s, the Grisham’s—which afford publishers the ability to take such risks in the first place.   Having committed to a select list of quality material that’s come to our attention, we’ll be able to provide readers fresh, evocative stories they’d otherwise probably never be exposed to.   And by sustaining the level of quality we’ve set at Random Cove, coupled with the reduced costs that digital production affords, we can do so without risking the market reach of our other titles.   If anything, we serve only to bolster their mainstream prospects by confirming their respective commercial viability.”

Visitors to RandomCove.com and ThinTimberBooks.com will be able to preview the opening chapters of novels currently available before making their decision to purchase.   The price of novels will range from $2.50 to $6.50 with 50% of each purchase going directly to the author(s).

Authors interested in submitting their work for consideration will be encouraged to do so following the Summer release of TTB’s first titles, which will be announced shortly.   All fiction genres will be considered in novel-length and novella form. Anthologies and short story collections will also be considered.   To be placed on our contact list, please e-mail InterestedAuthor@randomcove.com.
