| Word is there's purpose behind We, The Screenwriter |

SAN DIEGO—The meaning and making of writer-director Michael Steven Gregory's anticipated new film exploring the
process and business of writing for Hollywood, We, The Screenwriter, is chronicled in the June issue of Word San
Diego. Written by Gregory and subtitled "Declaration of a Modern Screenwriter or Why S***t Don't Stink When It At Least
Oughta Smell," the piece is now available to read online at the publisher's website.
We, The Screenwriter is the
follow-up to Gregory's 1996 documentary focusing on book authors, We, The Writer, of which bestselling novelist Gayle
Lynds said, “It’s the finest film I’ve seen about the complexity, simplicity, madness, and complete logic of writers and
writing.”
With credits spanning feature films and television, including Air Bud, Any Given Sunday, Battlestar Galactica (2004),
Cleopatra, Constantine, Hill Street Blues, Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang, Land of Oz,
Lethal Weapon, The Long Kiss Goodnight, The Last Boy Scout,

Something Borrowed, Spawn, Spider-Man Unlimited, Star Trek: The Next Generation,
Star Trek: First Contact, Stranded, The Sum of All Fears, Tales from the Crypt,
Timeline and more, We, The Screenwriter provides an intimate, inside look into the
process and profession of 16 screenwriters working in today's Hollywood. Those appearing in the film are Erich Anderson,
Shane Black, Allison Burnett, Larry Brody, Frank Cappello, Sharon Y. Cobb, Anton Diether, Dana Fox, Anna Gilson, John
Mankiewicz, Aaron Mendelsohn, Ronald D. Moore, Gary Phllips, Daniel Pyne, Deborah Serra and Robert Ward.
With final post-production finessing underway, We, The Screenwriter is slated for completion in September. A sneak
screening of the film will take place at the 4th Annual Southern California Writers' Conference *Los Angeles in October.
