Shooting (it) wraps on a good beat

CULVER CITY—The Community of Content Creators' online (it) magazine has wrapped production on its first series of stories slated for the 2005 launch. Three Los Angeles area grass roots heroes were profiled: Ruben Aronin, executive director of Earth Communications Office; Carlos Battilana, founder of The Amauta Project; and Drumming for your Life Institute founder Steven Angel. Segment producer Kate McCallum enlisted director Michael Steven Gregory for assistance on the shoot.

Dedicated to using the power of percussion to maximize at-risk students' learning potential and to enhance the recovery and quality of life of patients dealing with cancer or addictions, Angel's Rhythm of Learning/Transformation/Discovery & Empowerment programs have been adopted by a variety of schools, juvenile justice facilities and addiction rehabilitation centers throughout the L.A. basin. A percussion performance by Angel was shot for his segment, also hosted by McCallum.

Produced by nonprofit educational media group Community of Content Creators, (it) magazine aims to become "The pre-eminent online source for cause-related news, resources and entertainment and is dedicated to telling engaging humanitarian stories spotlighting bold efforts by individuals and organizations in support of global issues."
