At its sophmore event in Palm Springs, the Southern California Writers' Conference again put screenwriters to the test. In a condensed version of the Indie Filmmaker's Bootcamp, the Script-to-Screen track enabled participants to develop, write, cast and shoot a quality short film at the conference, June 10-12, 2005.

A dozen conferees participated, working with accomplished filmmakers from the IFB program to make The Hit Me. Developed from an idea workshopped Friday, the script was completed at 8 a.m. Saturday, and the film shot on location thru Sunday morning. The rough cut of the film was completed Sunday afternoon.
